How to use Rotate PDF
Choose a PDF, select the rotation angle and run the tool. The angle is applied to every page.
What the result contains
Page content stays in place while its displayed rotation changes.
Practical tip
If only a few pages need changing, extract those pages first.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to run this tool.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Rotate PDF runs in your browser, so your file is processed on your own device and is not uploaded to our server. The page only downloads the free code libraries it needs.
Should I check the downloaded file?
Yes. Open the result and confirm its pages and content before sharing or deleting your original.
When to rotate a PDF
- Sideways scans: the scanner or phone app saved the whole document on its side.
- Upside-down pages: a stack of paper went through the feeder the wrong way round.
- Landscape documents: wide tables, plans or slides that should be read sideways.
- Before sharing or printing: save people from turning their screen or head to read your file.
Which angle should I pick?
- 90° clockwise: the top of the page is currently on the left side.
- 180°: the page is upside down.
- 270° clockwise (the same as 90° counter-clockwise): the top of the page is currently on the right side.
Good to know before you rotate
Rotate PDF turns every page by the same angle. If only some pages are sideways, take those pages out with Extract Pages, rotate them, then put the document back together with Merge PDF and Organize PDF.
The page content is not redrawn, so text stays sharp and selectable.
Why rotate with PDFCloudy
It takes a few seconds, works in any browser and your file stays on your own device. No account and no software are needed.
More questions about rotating PDFs
Will rotating reduce the quality?
No. Only the page direction changes. Text and images stay as they were.
Can I rotate just one page?
This tool rotates all pages. Use Extract Pages to separate the page first, rotate it, then merge it back.
My PDF viewer shows it rotated, but it opens sideways elsewhere. Why?
Rotating in a viewer usually only changes your view. Rotate PDF saves the new direction into the file, so it opens the right way everywhere.
Should I rotate before running OCR?
Yes. Text recognition works best on upright pages, so rotate first and then use OCR PDF.
